2010 Labor Scholars Retreat
Please join us for our second Labor Scholars Retreat. Los Angeles Community College faculty participating in this event will be able to work collaboratively with authors, researchers and other labor studies scholars such as Nelson Lichtenstein, Kent Wong, Peter Dreier and many others to discuss and come up with effective strategies for teaching labor studies at the Los Angeles Community Colleges. Some key topics to be addressed are teaching about labor and African Americans and teaching labor studies during the current economic crisis.
This event will involve exciting presentations by renowned scholars and labor activists and facilitated small breakout sessions. Attendees who commit to teaching labor studies in their curriculum will also receive hard copies of the 2010 edition of the DHLI Primer on Teaching Labor Studies at the Community Colleges. There will be a limited number of hard copies and we will be reserving them for participants of the Retreat.
The Retreat will be held at Monarch Hall on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at LA Valley College. Please RSVP to attend. Space is limited.
