Tomorrow the CLEAN Car Wash Campaign will be having a picket at Vermont Hand Wash. Please join as we will chant, walk and stand against injustice against car wash workers. Please make sure to bring comfortable shoes and sunblock.

LATTC GREEN SUMMER YOUTH PROGRAM
LATTC’s Division of Workforce and Economic Development will launch the Summer Green Jobs @ LATTC focusing on Utilities and Green Construction funded by the City of Los Angeles.
Students will be paid to work 120 hours in addition to taking 3 units of coursework at LATTC. Interested individuals must meet the following requirements for program eligibility: We who meet the following requirements:
- 18 to 24 years of age (HS graduates under the age of 18 are eligible as well)
- Live in the City of Los Angeles
- Have legal right to work
As part of the program, students will enroll in a minimum of 3 units in Weatherization Training, Green Construction and or/Cooperative Education. The program starts July 6th and ends August 31st. Priority will be given to LATTC students in the First Year Experience and student impacted by the Summer Session II class cancellation.
Students must attend an orientation this Thursday, June 18th at 5pm in the LATTC Cafeteria (Building H). Space is limited. The students will be paid and earn valuable work experience.

You must have a background in the social sciences or humanities and have excellent writing and communication skills to be eligible for this award. Winners of this award will participate in an internship for 12 to 15 weeks during the summer at a Washington, DC, office of the Aspen Institute.

Apply to the Summer Youth Organizing Academy (SYOA) 2009
SYOA challenges youth to learn the theory and engage in the practice of building a multi-racial, multi-generational, multi-lingual movement for civil-rights. As a participant you will have the opportunity to work with Bus Riders Union, the Community Rights Campaign, and the Clean Air, Clean Lungs, Clean Buses Campaign—three projects of the Strategy Center.
